For 65 years straight, the #1 genre in music, selling wise, was rock n' roll worldwide. Last year (2017) in June, it got de-crowned by hip hop. Hip hop is the #1 genre. It's hip hop - rock - country - pop or pop - country. ~ Pras

^^I think the OP was talking about albums of remakes (ig. Rod Stewart's American Songbook), not the cover artwork. The Ramsey Lewis album is all Beatles songs.

Honorable mention to Ella Fitzgerald's songbook series. The Cole Porter and Harold Arlen albums are my favorite.

Cole Porter was an amazing songwriter.
