George Benson in concert...

Aww... my friends waited til the last minute and the only seats left are $75 ($89 with taxes, fees). I would have gone if the $35 seats were left... sad I am on a budget right now, been on Doctor's leave for awhile and only getting 50% of my original pay so my budget is lower right now.

How much would you pay to go to a concert if you were on a budget?

These days,if you're on a budget, you're better off just spending $15 for a concert DVD lol shows have become so expensive.

Pity (esp. if you were gonna go to one of the Hawaii dates booked for early March). He always gives a great show. Top notch players. Was lucky enough to go see him once upon a time in the late 80's on the night of my engagement wink.

But I was lucky enough to get to see The Stylistics last year. $35 ticket, came out to about 45. Okay, if I was really crazy about GB, I would pay that much to see him. I think I might have paid more to see The Stylistics if I had to. fallinluv

I've been trying to keep my concert prices within budget--I was lucky enough to get a last minute ticket to see Stevie Wonder next to the stage upper level for $40.00. I think those seats beat the hell outa the more expensive ones way across the arena. Did the same for Bruce Springsteen in 2012. Two of the best concerts I've ever been to. Try to stick within your budget and check for last minute tickets...or those desperate to sell. Also, check out local artists you don't know where it is free or cheap cover charge--you might be really thrilled with what you hear! I had a great experience hearing Van Hunt play locally at a dive club for $20. You don't always have to spend large to hear good music. wink

I wish I could get bargains like that, or wish I knew how to bargain hunt for tickets like that. We would need at least 3-5 at good prices for all of us to go (one of my friends would be the driver).

I don't mind paying money for good seats. When I went to see Prince, 12 Girls Band, The Eagles, and Air Supply (lol - don't ask, I liked them. lol) I had pretty good seats. At 12 Girls Band, I was in the 3rd row, saw my boss in the back row. Wish I was closer to the stage at The Stylistics concert though. But I was kinda on a budget then too. sad

Also, I'm kinda wary of being ripped off if I try to purchase tickets from craigslist or something. How do you get your last minute, cheap tickets?
