You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Stevie also wrote the only song that I can stand with the sounds of a baby crying on and--hands down!--is the best song ever written about the joy of having a child born... Some people may consider this some kind of cliche song by now, but I don't think so. It is fresh and alive and speaks to anyone going through that experience. A snap shot of what that experience is like. That is truly Stevie's gift--to make people experience not only what he does--but to make it a UNIVERSAL experience that speaks to people of all kinds and in different times. It was a real treat to see Stevie with his grown daughter on this one. I played this over and over when I had my kid...

"Knocks Me Off My Feet" is 3 minutes and 41 seconds of pure romantic longing that standouts on an album of riches. The bridge tugs at the heart and never lets go. One of his best. [Edited 2/21/15 12:18pm]
