But I'd LOVE her 2 sing one of his tunes,,,I've alwaysed thought of him as the male version of Angela Winbush. Back in the 80, she made an influence on the RnB scene with some street taste as a producer, Mr.Robert did exactly the same in the 90's. Even Nia Long and bunch of actors(like Julia Roberts) joined in Ja/Ashanti's videos. Well "Girlfriend" is an R. Kelly production so you assume it's him pulling the strings in attracting the names. B2K are a current fad though so getting in their video gets you some promotion regardless... Black Asia is Chante Moore?? Thats Chante in the contagous video,,am I right?? Nah Asia is the "Black and asian girl tatoo on your tummy, thugged out as hell but I'm gonna make ya love me" new comer that causes the "Showdown" between R and Mr Biggs. The storyline is confusing because R does the voice for two characters on the song's spoken narrative. Chante Moore was out on her ass in the Contagious video. Soon as Mr Biggs had to point his cane you knew it was over.
On a sidenote, ya'll remember the "Down Low" video part of the series. The love interest in that clip was Garcelle Beaveau (sp) who is now a regular in NYPD Blue. Man, I haven't seen much of R's videos. The only videos I watched from him are(I Believe I Can Fly-His song with Celine-If I Could turn-Feelin' On Yo Booty-Feista-I Wish-Bad Man) I wish I could see mo' of his stuff. BTW Max, did you see the "A Decade Of R. Kelly" video?? Its a a video history of R. Kelly's career including videos, interviews and more. Will it be released in DVD?? It's the documentary and all the TP2.com album's videos, all except "Feelin On Yo Booty" that is, which hurts the comprehensive collector a little. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the best. I don't think it's better than TP2. Ignition remix is probably the best cut on the album. Although, it will most likely stay on top due to all the terrible music out there right now. (maybe that's why you guys think it's so damn good) | |

So patronising, I think people like it on it's own merits because the music is good. Granted there isn't much competition around and it isn't up there with "What's Going On", "Songs In The Key Of Life", "Sign O The Times" etc. but The Chocolate Factory does deserve props as one of the leading lights of it's generation and era. | |

I totally agree but before I had the album I always figured "Ignition (Remix)" would be my favourite track on there and the one I always skipped to. I played it to death back then but as soon as I got the album no skipping took place, played it front to back everytime and as you say "Ignition" and the remix aren't even a highlight of the set. This goes for the equally commercial "Snake" and "Who's That" also... difference between the fun club jam stuff the general public will snap up and the purist. | |

Nobody's dismissing TP-2.com, it was revisiting that album around 2001 that broke me into diging him like I did back in the early to mid 90s. The 2CD set "R" after a three year break had been a little much to digest at the time... | |
