I'd rather see an hour of Beyonce singing Stevie than all of these people. It takes a certain vocal type to pull off a Wonder song.

Decent opening including Beyonce though I could've done without her constant gyrating and endless closeups. Couldn't even hear Ed over her at one point...

Won't even lie, I tried to be open minded and like it but yeah, that sucked. At least the girl can sing but yeah, they definitely stripped away the song's attitude.

Jamie Foxx has quote of the night though: "Stevie has more talent in one of his braids than what we hear today." Or something along those lines...

I agree with you for the most part, although I'd give Annie an A instead of A-, she kept me completely captivated during her song. Andrea Bocelli I'd probably give a B- because while his voice is impeccable, it didnt seem appropriate for the type of song he was singing, Andrea has negative soul or funk. His voice cancels out any soul that might be present in the music. I'd also give Pharrell's performance a B-.. I like his outfit and I like that he got people moving, but he doesn't have the voice for any of Stevie's songs TBH. It was great to see India/Janelle & Jill.

Change it one more time..

Has Prince ever mentioned his favorite song from SITKOL? It would be cool if he performed it, whatever it is.

I believe Prince said that he wish he wrote Village Ghetto Land from the SITKOL album.I believe he covered a few songs from it.

A lot more talent than Beyonce on that stage, as she only did the opening number.

I was amused at how Ed Sheeran couldn't maintain eye contact with her. Maybe he, too, was surprised she'd toned down the oversinging.

These tributes would be more meaningful if they actually got young talent and artists that have actually been influenced by Stevie like Prince, Maxwell, etc Why didn't they invite Fantasia or Ledisi? Fantasia would have threw the damn house down! I didn't watch it but most people said that Gaga, Annie, Janelle, Jill and India Arie had the best performances. I personally think Stevie deserves better. I am glad that Janelle performed though.

You think India.Arie/Janelle/Jill performance was average? That was one of the best performances of the night. The rest of your ratings I either can deal with but I have to disagree with you on that one.
