Good topic, but this strikes me more as a battle of song versions than of singers. and I take the original over the rest. The song itself is one of the best love ballads you'll ever find, and Buckley's version is simply a work of art.

Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over" is in my top five pop vocal performances of all
time. There is a section during the "It's never over, she's the tear that hangs inside my soul for-
ever" where his vocal harmonies, albeit so quiet, is too beautiful for words.

The original question is far more ridiculous than my comment. Also, I'm an unapologetic grammar nazi. When referring to two people's voices who are no longer with us, WAS is the correct word, not IS. Because really, they ARE both dead.
