What are the best Pointer Sister Albums? Want to get into the Pointer Sisters more so give me their best works so I can check em out! | |

IMO, these two are their strongest, most consistant albums.

I totally agree in both cases. Especially with Special Things. Break Out might have been their commercial peak with the multiple big hits, but Special Things to me is their most enjoyable album. Once I was able to listen to the whole (reisssued) album for the first time, it struck me how solid it it is from start to finish. | |

Nice to see some love for some of their post "Breakout" work. Iam not interested in other of their 70's stuff. I start with "slowhand" (which is great) and work from there LOL.
Gotta say though that "Hot together" is pretty spotty as is "Serious slammin'".
"SS" starts off well but tailor's off by side b. "Hot together" reminds me of other crossover rnb pop albums like Jermaine's "Precious Moments" and Commodores "United".
I much prefer those albums to "Hot together" I have to say. Though "Say the word" is some seriously, gloriously dated gooey goodness LOL....
.........Blast some real speakers to that breakdown before the guitar solo LOL. Great stuff. Reminds me of Jermaines overstuffed synthfest "I hear heartbeat".
Their last album produced by one of my fav producers Peter Wolf gets overlooked. It's a solid collection of early 90s pop/ lite rnb that is content with not being hip, agressive or "young". It's much more honest then their previous 2 "Right Rhythm" (which I like alot) and "Serious Slammin'".
