1980's Pop Stars who've aged with dignity and grace ....

Casting the first vote for Daryl Hall. His Live From Daryl's House is amazing. Here's a guy who A) Found his place as a musician in the modern era and B) Has gotten even better with time. Runner up Cynd Lauper. Madonna take note. Quit mutalating your face. Don't fight age , embrace it!

Agree about Madonna. Been a lifelong fan, but I've lost respect for her as a person for the last few years. It's not even about what she's singing or how she's behaving for attention cause she's always done that, it's the fact she's begging for it now and resorting to desperate measures and not thinking. I love that she's rebellious and breaks barriers, but she no long has healthy boundaries when doing it, and everything she does is motivated by money these days....I mean, holy water and rebel heart wires, really? Sit your ass down

I also agree hall & oates and cyndi lauper are great choices.

Anyone who either retired altogether, or continued on into the 1990s making music in their own style but failed in sales and then retired. In other words, anyone who refused to lower their standards and sell out to the current sound.

Andy is a four letter word.

I was thinking of Annie Lennox, too. Also Kate Bush, and Tina Turner (though Tina was around long before the 80s, but she had a lot of pop success in that decade).

That Sam Fox picture cannot be recent. She goes to the same gym as a friend of mine. She's a proper clapped out drunken mess. You wouldn't recognise her at all and she just does bad reality shows.

Sheena Easton has had some terrible face work done.

I say Cyndi Lauper. Still fabulous.

Well said. I too am a lifelong fan. She held it together really well until about age 45. She needs to embrace adulthood.

I don't know if Daryl had any surgery. He's still doing his thing in music well though. Annie Lennox is a great choice. Physically , George Michael look great as well. And musically he never compromised. Billy Joel also seems to have found a good place doing lectures at colleges and the random special event concerts.

I tried to get the specifics of the pic in question, no luck. It traces back to her own website and some other guy's blog, neither of which give the date it was taken. Google has it under "2014" but that doesn't really mean much.

However this pic is definitely from last June, she's still very doable IMO:

SoulAlive

I think Madonna looks great for her age wink she has outlasted most of her 80s contemporaries...still doing successful,sold-out tours and releasing music regularly.Just think....in 1983,everyone thought she would be a one-hit wonder, lol

Rick Springfield

Easily RICK SPRINGFIELD first of all the guy is 65 and never has had weight issues drug issues, he is a healthy guy overall where as Billy joel at 65 looks like a fat accountant, Rick tours more than and releases more than artists half his age that should be more "in the business". Even though Rick started and had his first HIT in 1971-72, his "commerical" era was the 80's.

And also the band a-ha, here pictured in 2015 as they do a press conference about returning for a show in RIO at the 30th Anniversary of Rock N Rio and their return to the place where they set the record for largest paying audience ever at 198,000. And the 30th Anniversary of their debut album.

a-ha

Lead Singer Morten Harket (Center) is turning 55, while Paul Wakktaar Savoy (Left) is 53 and Magne Furuholmen (Right) is turning 52.
