Both No Doubt and Sugar Ray lasted way longer than I thought either of them would...although they seem to be on their last legs right now...not saying they interested me musically however.

Ginuwine -when I heard the song Pony, I didn't think he'd make it past that song. I guess he proved me wrong, but I'm still not too crazy about him or his Prince cover.

i honestly thought that radiohead would turn out to be a one hit wonder... thought for sure that "creep" was it for them.

Destiny's Child! When "No, no, no," came out that's all you heard. I just knew they wouldn't be able to follow that up with another hit... ZOINKS!!! Fooled me!

I wouldn't say No Doubt are on their last legs. Rock Steady has sold nearly 3 million copies in the US alone and they won a grammy the other month. They've pretty much done that through hard work as they've had no hype at all since Tragic Kingdom. It will be interesting to see how all these nu metal bands get on when that bandwagon hits the skids which is about now. One band who have amazed me with their longevity is Depeche Mode. At the time they were just seen as an addition the electronic genre. However they've outlasted everyone else and are still going strong. I've never been a huge fan but all credit to them for keeping it going.

she's only had one cd out. She still a one-hit wonder in my eyes. Destiny's Child When Aaliyah first came out, I thought she would be a one hit wonder even though I liked her TLC

Brandy
Nelly Ashanti But what drives me crazy is these "One Hit Wonder" shows on VH1. I have seen them include people like Digital Undergound, Sir-mix-alot and other hip hop and r&b acts that had more than one hit. Mixalot had "Beepers" and "Posse.." way before "Baby Got Back" And DU had a string of hits on the black charts as well. There were acts that they mentioned I can't remember right now but that shit pissed me off. They should rename their show "One White-Hit Wonders" Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance

Mary J.?! She has legend written all over her. not as of her first single, though. But definitely as of her first album. Plus, she'd been doing backup vocals for others for a couple years prior. Anyone who knew her, knew she had quite a voice.

MARC ANTHONY (stateside) BACKSWEET BOYS (and most of the first-wave TRL groups/singers) LIL BOW WOW BRITNEY SPEARS (thought she'd drop off after "Baby One Mo'") JA FOOL J. HO (thought she'd drop off after the miserable first edition the "J.Lo" album) MASTER PEE NORAH JONES (thought she would be another one of those "see-their-video-one-time-on-BET-and-next-minute-they-gone" artists, but the corporate powers that be proved me wrong)
