Second hearing--first full liisten. Wow, gradual emotional buildup...to a major musical climax... No let down in the end. This is Bjork's best in a decade.
"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
I'm really excited for all this upcoming Björk excitement. I really want to see one of her shows, as I foolishly missed out last time she performed... I'm kind of annoyed that the physical album and Mp3 album have separate releases now though
Why? Just wait for the physical CD. Bjork was forced to release it early via digital release due to leaks, the same way Madonna was...
Because I'm tempted to buy it now, but I want the physical cd and my cheapness forbids me from buying the same album twice.
I understand why they put it out early though.
If you're definitely planning to buy the physical release when it comes out I don't necessarily see anything morally wrong with pirating the digital copy in the meantime. Obviously still 100% illegal, but I can't think of any reason why it would be harmful per se.
Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...
Always cry for love, never cry for pain...
The full album including "Black Lake" is for sale on iTunes in the U.S.
Ahhhh. I hadn't thought of that. Perhaps it's a regional issue.
I've got Black Lake from the online leak, but I'd like to purchase a legit download at some point. Perhaps when I'm next visiting the States.
I can't guess the reasoning behind making a track in the middle of the album available in some territories and not others. Because it's over ten minutes in length however, iTunes has tagged it as one of those "album only" purchases.

Oh, I see what you mean. I see the "album only" prompt next to the greyed out "Black Lake" among the track listings. This made me think it's not available at all via iTunes -- and that I'd have to buy a physical copy.
I understand now that's entirely wrong. Black Lake will be downloaded along with all the other tracks, it's just not listed with its own separate purchase price.

Embarrassed.

You've never come across that before in iTunes or Amazon's digital albums?

Well, the vast majority of titles I download are older catalog items. Less incentivized pricing among that stuff. Still, I've surely encountered this sort of thing when I've bought newer titles and must just be having a brain fart right now.
I"m enjoying the new album. I haven't liked her recent work, but I'm really loving this. It's reawakened my interest in her. I know she is doing some small shows in NYC, but is she planning to tour the rest of the country? I've seen her a couple of times and it's always been a brilliant show. But she has to be one of the hardest artists to get tickets for. She usually plays smaller venues because they are more suited to her style of music, but they always sell out in around 2 seconds.
Thanks for this information. I'll do my best to attend at least one of these shows. The Biophilia performance was my concert of the year in 2012.
Please report back to us!
I saw her Toronto Biophilia show. Im excited to catch her on this followup tour.
I was able to--just barely it seems--get a ticket to the final NY City Center show. All shows sold out very quickly with most tickets bought during the presale apparently.
