They were too uninteresting on the whole.

The song you've linked sounds good and I wouldn't mind if more rock bands took influences from soul music, but yeah, the song's closer to soul than rock in overall.

So basically what you're saying is that that rock shouldn't sound like rock. lol

This sounds like Rock 2 me.
