Artist Who Have Mass Appeal Among Their Peers

My cousin bought something rather interesting up to me. She said that while Beyonce has mass media appeal she also has the respect of her peers. People who actively competing against her fawn over her. About her album her performances, pretty much everything. It's interesting. I was just wondering what other artists you think had that kind respect/adoration from their peers?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I would include Prince in this category for sure. Prince is like a musician's musician, a celebrity's celebrity.

Her newest album is incredible. Artistic yet accessible.

I remember seeing Adele on TV a few years ago at some awards show, her first first big appearance since becoming hugely famous. Every famous person in the room from McCartney on down was wildly gesturing how much they loved her. It was like they wanted to be seen approving of her on camera.

And lately, everybody wants to be seen hanging around Dave Grohl.
