Van Hunt. Popular is on my favorite albums.

He's got a new album coming out soon. Amazon has what maybe the first single set for a Jan. 27th release. It's called "Vega (stripes on)".

Bilal is my boy, but Van Hunt is badass. I pre-ordered his new project because his songs defy convention and rocket past pop boundaries.

Both are excellent records, but I'm gonna have to go with Bilal. For me Love For Sale is the 21th century There's A Riot Going On. I hope the success of Black Messiah will make Blue Note and Interscope realize, that there still is an audience for music like this, and release both of these great albums.

If I had to choose I'd go with Popular

After hearing Black Messiah...I pulled that record only to realize that Hunt was on to something making that record.

Blue Note messed with his head and he hasn't been right since. I'm hoping this new one gets him back in that space.

Same thing for Bilal. I wonder what would have happened if Love was released.

Maybe it was the evil record companies plan to keep those records away from the public...

I love Popular. It's my favorite Van Hunt album and one of my favorite albums of the last ten years.

I got Bilal's Love Surreal when it came out. I really enjoyed it and it was the first of his albums for me.

I've not yet been able to find a copy of Love for sale. All the links I found were old and no longer working.

I hope to one day hear the album, I've read a lot of good things about it.

Bilal. Petition needs to start for Interscope or Plug Research to re-release it.

Check me out and add me on:

I gotta ride with Bilal on this one. Popular had some great tracks on it (my favorite being "Feelings") but ultimately it was a bit of a let down for me. I do have a promo cd of Popular in my collection, that I paid quite a few dollars for when it was withdrawn.

Second, I'm voting for Van. I love Bilal. But Popular is amazing.

I can't believe both of these albums were shelved. (Add Kamaal the Abstract to that list, at least temporarily). What the fuck.

I think my versions of both albums are poor quality. I hope to have them in good quality some day.

Couldn't Bilal just re record the tracks along with some new track's and release it as a new album? That track White Turn To Gray is a beast.
