HAPPYPERSON

New Edition is reuniting with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis for their new album!

Quote:
Johnny Gill is preparing to release his 7th solo album “Game Changer” in December and fans will be happy to know that New Edition will be making an appearance!

“My brothers, New Edition, we have a song on there with all of us,” he told HipHollywood about the song “Me and You” during a recent interview. “I thought that this would be a real treat for people because we haven’t recorded since 2004 … Its like a grown folks song.”

But that is not all, according to Johnny the group had so much fun recording “Me and You” that they have decided to go back into the studio and work on a whole new album together. “Were actually just trying to get the scheduling together, to start going in,” Gill said in the interview. “I actually have about four songs that I know I have brought to the table that the guys like, that we’re going to get started on and recorded,” Johnny stated. “We want to definitely visit Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, which is where its all been for us, making them a part of our lives and apart of this journey as we move forward.”

When NE were on The View, Ralph mentioned they had been in the studio the previous day.

All 6 were on The View, and Bobby was promoting his cooking spices.

Where in this story does it say they are
working with Jan and Lewis? Saying they want to
"visit Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis" sounds like
wishing and hoping not reuniting.

Never been a big NE fan, but their work with Jam and Lewis has been arguably their best. This is good to hear.

nod I'm surprised that they haven't collaborated with Jam and Lewis again before now. I don't know who's great idea it was for them to collaborate with Diddy a few years back. That was a train wreck waiting to happen.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Jam & Lewis did 3 songs on that album, but it was released on Puffy's label Bad Boy, so of course he was going to be the executive producer. I've heard that Puffy didn't want to pay Jam & Lewis as they were asking for too much, but NE insisted. Puffy also did a couple of songs on their 1995 album Home Again. One was released as single (You Don't Have To Worry), but the video had a remix with Missy Elliot.

Yeah Jam and Lewis had the best tracks on their Bad Boy album.

I loved Puffy's work on Home Again, and every group he ever had was designed after New Edition, so I expected the 2004(?) album to benefit from that inspiration.

On a related note, it was announced a few months ago that Jam & Lewis was releasing an album called Jam & Lewis Project, Vol 1. Ralph Tresvant is supposed to be one of the singers on it. Morris Day & Janet Jackson are also said to have done tracks on the album.

You ain't neva lied Cinny! I looked up which songs Jam/Lewis produced on "One Love" and they literally are the only songs from that album tht remain on my iPod. "Rewrite the Memories" and "Newness" were about the only good stuff on there!

Jam and Terry definitely have a chemistry with New Edition! Hopefully the new stuff is solid too!
