What's with all the Questlove hating? He knows his shit. That's why he is asked his opinion on things that matter concerning music. He is not only a participant but, obviously a fan of the music and that's why he is so willing to talk about D'Angelo. Both of whom are huge Prince fans, like most here I assume. He is a fan of theirs also. Just as Voodoo inspired the creative spirit of The Rainbow Children, I expect Black Messiah to inspire Prince in the near future also. He has been awefully quiet since his own releases.

All I gotta say is if that Rufus Thomas add was done in this day ... watch the fuck out everybody!!

I could see every black person catching feeling over that one. SHIT!!

I see where that episode of the Wayans Bros got that from, when the Bull bust through the door.

Are you talking about the episode where Marlon gets a gig doing commercials for the malt liquor company? That one was pretty funny.

Trolls be gone!

I agree.

back on topic here: Nicki Minaj on why she is silent

http://www.rollingstone.c...e-20141230

I have to agree with Nicki. In this day of social media, anything you say can be ripped apart. Campaigns can be started to boycott artists who speak out then they are forced to go the crying, apology tour. It's easier to shut any artist down. Of course, there was Muhammad Ali who went thru hell for refusing to fight in Vietnam. How many people out there would be willing to put their career on the line for a cause?

Well you are agreeing with a sell-out and a moron.

This chick does not have time for causes but has time to degrade Malcolm X and put a pic of herself with a snake going up her ass but cannot be bothered to speak out on this or any issue.

I doubt most young black people which is Niki's fan base would care about any boycott of her music as long as her core audience supported her she would be fine

Many of them were like that. There were versions of the ads played on the radio too

These people did commercials but they also did songs that discussed Social Issues.

Marvin Gaye and Harold Melvin and the Blue notes.
