Love for 'Sly' by Herbie Hancock. If you've heard this track you know it's some of the best music you could ever hear.
From 'Headhunters' (1973). Incredible energy and unparalleled playing - truly amazing. A great album all round in fact, and while 'Chameleon' and 'Watermelon Man' get most of the credit, it's 'Sly' that really floors you. I've played among people whose usual fare is ska-punk or pop-rock and they nearly cried. They could really understand what was happening but they new it was something involving exquisite musical ability. Anybody got love for this track? Show it now.

Harvey Mason's drumming rearranges my body's molecules while listening to it, especially from the 9:25 point till the end. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Yes! Damn, at least someone showing love for this track. What a masterpiece of energy, musicianship and improvisation. The sound of Mason's drums on that album is just perfect. Good stuff Supernova.

I vaguely remember hearing music from this album as a kid, but never owned the album, or bought the remastered cd until it was new. I blasted this album in my car SO much. It's one of those fusion desert island discs for me. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
