James Brown... but no Prince? Sure you can't categorize the man, but Prince's funk and R&B jams are stellar.
(Days of Wild, DMSR, Kiss, Gonna Be A Beautiful Night, Baby I'm a Star, 1999, 1+1+1 is 3, Controversy, Clouds, Get Off, Musicology, Temptation, SOTT, Pussy Control, Interactive, Lovesign...the list goes on and on)

Earth, Wind & Fire will be performing for The Obama's @ the annual "Christmas in Washington" Concert. It airs this Friday night 12/19/14, on TNT...Dwayne "The Rock" is hosting...I could look it up, but did EWF ever put out a Christmas Album? | |

and it's gorgeous! probably the most vintage sounding EWF album in more than 30 years, not kidding
...LOL...Wow, so they waited decades to go into the studio and sing Christmas songs? I think Chaka Khan did the same thing..Then again I'm not sure if she has produced a Xmas Album after being in the insudtry for decades...Maybe she has songs recorded but no finished project... | |

If it was solo, I wouldn't have put Prince. There's thousands of R&B/soul acts and he wouldn't have come to mind. I rarely go to the Prince section. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton | |
