I've always thought that "Black Cat" was Janet's attempt to do a big rock song just like her brother Michael ("Beat It"..."Dirty Diana").

I like the song, and I believe it's the first of the entire 2 songs Janet has written by herself (perhaps the only one cos What'll I Do used a sample), but I don't like her voice on it. Too strained and forced. And the video was just Dirty Diana part 2. Leave the rockin to Michael. Janet should stick to whimpering like a fairy with a vibrator.

This song was cool when it came out...but now seems quite dated and a bit silly.
