Jody Watley created her own version of shalamar?

I'm surprised at this because she snubbed the brand for so many years and wants to be known as a solo act. I wish jody, howard and jeffrey get it together. Too old for the nonsense disbelief

I was surprised by this too!!
She came across as above a shalamar show and wanted it to be about her
Wait thats kinda what it is lol
Apparently she officially owns the name
Now if I had a choice between a Howard and Jeffrey show and hers....i'd go with the Howard and Jeffrey show
Howard was the voice

Jody is using the guys for the Shalamar segment of her touring show which fits perfect with the disco house infused Paradise project she recently released. It's not like she tours on Shalamar alone like Jeff and Howard who have been for years

This happens with alot of groups. The original members don't get along,so everyone gets "new" members and tours with their own version of the group nuts it's kinda annoying. But with all the drama surrounding Jody,Jeffrey and Howard,I don't think they'll ever put their differences aside and do a reunion.

Why did they argue in the first place? Who started the beef ? I´ve never been a big Shalamar fan. I started listening to Jody Watley when her debut album dropped and didn´t even know she was part of Shalamar because I was only 12 or 13 when Shalamar were at their peak.

So this beef is still kinda news to me. lol

Gettin' too old to hang on to those type grudges. razz lol That's why I admire groups like the Rolling Stones who have stayed together over half a century--longer than any of the other relationships in their lives. lol

Suge Knight's uncle, Dick Griffey was part of the problem. All of the individuals members of Shalamar (especially Jody & Howard) has issues with that label exec back in the early 1980s.

She only had strong lead vocals on a few of their hits ( disappearing act, s night to remember) ... Will she be able to do their songs after she left ( dancing in the sheets)

She sounds good to me. Better than Howard does these days.

And really, does Howard even perform "Dancing In The Sheets" anymore? ...or "Amnesia"? ..."Circumstantial Evidence"? lol

This I know. I was responding to Fury questioning whether or not departed group member is able to sing songs post their departure.

Also I'm sure the HH shalamar will be performing dancing in the sheets in Europe as it was one of their biggest pop hits

Howard still sounds pretty good and quite honestly his voice WAS most of shalamar. I saw him last yeAr and going to see him feb 12th. Those two guys with Jody don't even sing so whTs the point of taking the name ? Just sing the songs like Howard does in his set. but if you're comparing the shalamars... I'd go with the HH AND JD one

The point of Jody acquiring the Shalamar trademark was to end years of false and/or misleading promotional material and advertisements implying Jody would be performing at these HH/JD Shalamar live gigs and/or that the original girl from Shalamar was Carolyn Griffey.
