T-Connection has always been a very underrated band.I have a few of their albums on vinyl.
Bands like Kleeer,BB&Q Band,T-Connection,and GQ deserved alot more praise that they received.

Their baddest jam IMO. As good as any other top-tier funk band from that era. Also excellent is Everything Is Cool. Too much of their other stuff was disco-y or did not have enough funk egdge for my tastes. If you've got funk, you've got style.

I agree with u, Hardcore. Too disco-ey, BUT, their Capitol tenure, though short, featured a more mature, more FUNKY approach especially with "Everything Is Cool," "Groove City," "A Little More Love," etc...I'm hoping that Expansion might remaster/reissue these titles along with those of Sun which are still "vinyl only" even after all these years. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

Good call, Groove City for sure also deserves props. Just weird to me a band that can execute funk so well opts to go in other less musically successful directions. Bad advice/guidance, horrible judgment, drug abuse or infighting is all I can think of. There are many examples of this apart from T-Connection. There are probably no more than 20 bands in the history of music who recorded a half-dozen or more funk gems (i.e. Confunkshun, Barkays, Cameo, Ohio Players, EWF, P-Funk, JB, Prince, Sly, etc.). Makes me wonder (and mourn) there have not been more since for example, in hard rock, there are probably 100 that have produced at least a half-dozen or more great hard rock tracks. If you've got funk, you've got style.

My introduction to this band would be through hearing this gem.
And as far as the band going the full-fledge disco route I was introduced to this one:

YES!!! And how 'bout Ebonee Webb? Those bruthas could get down and hold their own or Kwick even. Same producer, Allen A. Jones, but that aside, B.B.& Q. Band were awesome depending upon which of their four incarnations you're referrin' to, Soul. They were a revolving door band from the get-go. Just shuffles of various studio peeps that Malvasi & Petrus had in mind with which to produce a particular album. Sad, cuz I coulda seen them with Jam & Lewis eventually. Hugz, Soul! Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

Hey, buddy! I agree. I think it was the label (Capitol). They had quite a nice lineup of R&B acts, but sadly didn't know how 2 promote any of 'em (i.e. Sun, Ebonee Webb, The McCrarys, Linda Clifford, Donna Washington (my FAVORITE), etc...I think the only MAJOR "hit" along R&B lines from Capitol was "Solid" by Ashford and Simpson. All else fell 2 the wayside. And as for the hard rock, I'm not too up on that genre per se enough to know whether or not you're referring to Classic Rock, Heavy Metal, Death Metal or whatever metal by saying "Hard Rock." No offense. Just honesty. I don't rock out much enough to add to your comment with all due respect. Have a great day tho and I dig what'cha sayin' about T-Connection and Da FUNK! Peace! Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

I only know of their 1981 and 1982 albums....when they had hits like "On The Beat" and "Imagination".I guess I need to dig deeper, huh?

speaking of T-Connection....who remembers their 1982 slow jam "Best Of My Love"?? I love that song!! That should have been a huge smash hit!! Sometimes I mention that song to certain people and they have no idea what I'm talking about.
