Duets That Never Happened... But You Wish Had

I was thinking a bit ago how great a duet would have been between Grace Jones and Annie Lennox back when Euythmics were in their heyday. I even think a more mature Grace and Annie duet today would be an awesome experience.

What other duets do you wish would have happened, but sadly never did?

I've been listening to a few of the reissued Tabu albums (Cherelle, Alexander O'Neal, SOS Band) for awhile. Lately I've been wondering what if there had been a full blown duet with O'Neal and Mary Davis (with the SOS Band) since he did ad-libs on The Finest.

Actually Madonna and Prince did a duet, a song off her Like A Prayer album simply called Love Song.

Sly Stone and Jimi Hendrix Sly had flown to London to meet with Jimi to colaborate and , as we all know, Hendrix overdosed on herion the same day. It was rumored that the "powers that be" didn't want the 2 most influential musicians of their time to colaborate. We can only wonder " what if".

Prince and Michael Jackson.

Ten song LP.

Five songs written by Prince to be performed by Michael.

Five songs written by Michael to be performed by Prince.

Prince penned songs produced by Prince.

Michael penned songs produced by Michael.

That idea is gold!

Thank you.

That's sort of what the Batman soundtrack was originally supposed to be, one side for each. But they weren't going to actually work together, each were to do their songs separate.

I think my idea would've jacked up the competitive nature of the project tenfold. it would've been successful.

I think Mike & George Michael would have sold more than Mike & Prince. Get It with Stevie Wonder only hit #80 on the Top 100, but it went Top 5 on the R&B chart and was a dance & adult contemporary hit too.
