The 2 songs that immediately came to my mind were:

1. "Let's Talk About Sex" from Salt-N-Pepa

2. "Whatta Man" from Salt-N-Pepa


The first song describes "all the good things and the bad things that may be." The second one has great lyrics that depict a need to recognize characteristics of sexy men like Denzel and even Prince! Two songs about sex from Salt-N-Pepa... what could be better?

Then, upon further thought, the 3rd song I thought of was "Gett Off" from Prince. Not that slow version that came with the album, but the fast video version. P had some great lyrics in that one! Wasn't there something about doing you on a dresser with your feet in the drawers? And who can forget

I'm so embarrassed that after all these years I didn't get the true gist of this song until about a couple years ago while I was at work and the song popped up on our satellite radio. I was humming along as usual and like a lightening flash I was like, OH THAT'S what they mean!! LOL. I guess I'm a slow learner.

You're not the only one. Maybe the lyrics were deliberately written that way to be more acceptable to a wider audience.

Rick James was the king at double entendre, most of his songs were about sex, drugs or both, just worded in a special way, LOL!!!

This is my kids' favorite song for the moment... They want to hear it every day in the car on their way to Kindergarten.

"Rockin the Ride" by Army of Lovers was an entry from the Eurovision Song Contest tryouts in Sweden last year (2013), but I doubt anyone here "got it". "Rocking" here is, well... you know The French part is quite cheeky too: "disturb, upset, swallow, mix, spit and there you have it: a Kinky Kong".

Army of Lovers used to be big on MTV in the late 80s with songs like "Crucified" and "Obsession" and reunited for this contest last year. They've always been provocative, but it was a long time since anyone got really upset with them. I mean, look at artists today... Then again, there's always someone going ballistic over gay references or innuendo.

Wow - I've not heard from this group since I was in high school! They were one of the first gender-bending groups and, you're right, "Crucified" was a big hit even in the U.S. back then. Nice to see they reunited. Not sure about the simplicity of the song, but I can see why kids might like it.
