Wow, it took them 7 months to create a song that most old school funk bands could spit out over a weekend. It's a well produced and played track. It sounds like they were mimicing Freakshow on the Dance Floor.

Funny, that Bar-Kays track obviously mimics the Midnight Star track "No Parking On The Dance Floor".

I don't think the Bruno Mars track sounds like either track that much, but you're right when you criticize them for spending so much time on a funk track. It's pretty absurd if you think how quickly a lot funk music was made back in the day.

^Part of the reason why it took a while to make the track was that Bruno was in the middle of his worldwide tour. Its not like they were hanging out in a Los Angeles studio working on it all that time

Ronson accrued some serious frequent flyer miles trying to pin Mars down for Uptown Special. Mars wound up playing drums throughout the album, and he co-wrote the kinetic single. “It was six or seven months of chasing Bruno around on tour,” says the soft-spoken Ronson, who co-produced “Locked Out of Heaven” and other tracks on Mars’ 2012 hit Unorthodox Jukebox.

Heard this on the weekend and it is the best thing I have heard from Bruno Mars

I am by no way a hater of the fella like a lot on here but this new single he features on by Mark Ronson is superb.

It has The Time written all over it !

I have read a recent interview by Mark Ronson where he has said he has been disappointed with the recent RnB, Soul and Funk sounds coming from artists and he wants to put it right.

I cant say I have heard much by Mark Ronson before but this sounds promising

Thanks for having an objective take of the song I certainly dont expect for everybody to be a fan of Bruno, but the song is really great and some people are just hating on it for no real good reason.

Oh ok got it For some reason I thought that link was to a screen grab from the video I just watched the video and I liked it. It's funny seeing Bruno in hair rollers and yes that one dude does look like Marlon Jackson

Yes a lot of his fans loved seeing Bruno in those pink hair curlers and I'm definitely one of them A lot of the Bruno fan blogs online have pics and gifs of him rockin the pink curlers lol. I even changed my avvy on LSA to a pic of him wearing the curlers lol! And yeah in the video, I think Bruno was having fun wearing them too I want to see what his hair looked like when those curlers came out tho!
