The author of "Christine Sixteen" known a LOT about family values. 1) Firstly, there is and never has been a federally official language in the US.

2) Secondly, all throughout US history there've been a multitude of languages, never in its history solely English. The majority of early settlers spoke Dutch, German, French, English and Italian. In many parts of the US German was the second most spoken language outside of english (considering German ancestry is perhaps one of the largest ethnic influences in the country). This country has always been multilingual and its inhabitants were always multilingual, up until WWI when because of political reasons it became largely monolingual.

3) Any false hysteria about spanish taking over anything isn't backed up by statistical studies on the issue. German, Italian and Polish speaking families in the US declined by 50% in the past 20 years, because children of immigrants are more likely to feel more comfortable speaking english than the language of their parents. I find it interesting to see hysteria over spanish-speaking immigrants today, when there was so little for the Germans Italians, Irish and Polish in previous generations.. Maybe that has something to do with color of the skin of those immigrating today.

Exactly. Unlike most countries, USA has NEVER made it law for their version of the English language to be the official language of the land at the time the country was founded on 7/4/1776.

There have been some self-made millionaries & billionaries that never went to an university. There have been some that were high school dropouts (EXAMPLE: the late Al Copeland)!

Actually, I was never a Kiss fan, but my brother was a HUGE Kiss fan in the 70s, and I grew to like some of their songs then...but that was a loooooooong time ago.

Kiss had a few cool songs in their heyday.It's just a shame that their leader,Gene Simmons,can't grow old gracefully.He's turned into an annoying,cranky,angry,old media whore.Every so often,I see a story about him making an offensive,inflammatory remark.It's the only way he can get some attention these days.
