Aside #1- I'm 41 and didn't see my 1st James Brown live show until after he got out of prison. That was my 1st of (probably) 4 live performances of his that I saw before he died. One of the 1st things I noticed was the 2 drum kits- never saw that before and he's the only one I've ever seen do that. Nevertheless, the James Brown drumming was always on point.
Aside #2- watching the doc, I had no idea that there was a time when Brown had 5 drum kits on stage. Wish I coulda seen that- or at least some footage of what that looked and sounded like. | |
