Best Movie Soundtracks? This topic is inspired by my curiosity to download the "Beverly Hills Cop" soundtracks. What are the considered greatest movie soundtracks in the history of music? Are the BHC soundtracks worth copping? I've heard generally good thing about them, particularly the one for the first movie but I need some intimate personal opinions.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Hard to top these. I will leave Grease off the list. I just wasn't a fan. I'll add Buck and The Preacher Man and Cooley High to the list. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Thanks everybody. Now how about the Beverly Hills Cops soundtracks? Is one better than the other? Are they both worth picking up on their own individual merits?

There's also one for Cop III which has 3 songs produced by Jam & Lewis (Terence Trent D'Arby, Patti LaBelle, Chanté Moore). It has other songs by INXS, Eazy E, Tony! Toni! Toné!, The Supremes, etc. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. BHC1 is alot more electro pop/rnb. Not any AOR/lite rock on there really.
BHC2 still has pop/rnb and follows a similar formula, but seems to sound even more commercial than no.1 and has more AOR on it. That soundtrack is remarkable if only for the fact nearly every song on it was released as a single....
