Sadly, with all the ageism which plagues the industry today, the more seasoned, veteran performers aren't even given the time of day. It's not like the 80's when Betty Wright could suddenly come out of nowhere with a #1 R&B hit single. One instance that I can think of when this actually happened was when Jean Carne shot up the chart to #1 with "Closer Than Close" in 1986. I doubt that this would EVER happen today, sadly. The emphasis just is NOT on singing ability so much as it's on "looks." Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up. |

how does that explain the massive failure of her "music" career when she was young then? she's a bullshit artist, literally and figuratively and people knew it from the start. |

Totally. Can't sing, can't dance, can't act. What else is left? NADA. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up. |

La Toya was the true innovator and star among her siblings... she had her nipple out on an album cover almost a decade before Janet did it on a stage. There was also a massive deterioration in Michael's album sales from Thriller (which featured La Toya on P.Y.T.) and Bad. Throw in the massive smash We Are The World and her Grammys, and it's clear that she's a huge legend in the business.
Or something like that, I just fancy writing the liner notes for that album.
That pose with her shoulder really did look like a boob |

If she could be a Muppet, she'd be Miss Piggy's sista. The voices, hair and surgical alterations are similar.

Exactly. I have no pity for anyone, group or organization that invest any amount of money into Latoya. Her entire existence in the industry was a sham from the beginning. People want to talk about Janet riding Michael coattails....Chile please (as my mother would say). Latoya is the poster child for that kind of ish.

I'm surprised the ride lasted as long as it has. |
