Barbra Streisand Makes Chart History

Barbra Streisand has made history on the U.S. album charts by becoming the only artist to score a number one in each of the last six decades.

Her new duets album, "Partners," has debuted atop the Billboard 200 countdown with an impressive 196,000 copies sold in its first week on release. With the feat, Streisand ties Elvis Presley and Bruce Springsteen for third place on the all-time number ones list, with 10.

Only the Beatles and Jay Z have more chart-toppers. The singer/actress scored her first number one album in October 1964.

I Love Babs..I'm not buying her CD but I like her...Have you heard the single Babyface produced for her? That was a Historical Production for his Career...I think she was the last BIG "get" for him...

Not really a fan, either. I have her "Emotions" album from the 80s. I love the title track, epecially since the Pointer Sisters provided the backing vocals on that song. But, I have a great deal of respect for her. She is truly a Legend.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I hate the arrangement and the slow down of her original songs-not buying the album.

Her sales have been holding up really well. She's definitely the definition of an album artist, probably the last true one!
