Bruce Springsteen to release remasters of first 7 albums 11/17 Well, lots of things to consider here. First of all, the Season of Remasters starts November 17th. So all y'all that are bummed Prince hasn't released a "Purple Rain" remaster can at least take comfort that it does appear that November is a likely time, if Prince is doing this.
Second, this is everything through "Born in the USA", remastered from the original analogue tapes. I'm not a remastered album guy, so I don't know exactly what that means. But I guess it's as close to being in the studio as you can get? You can get it on vinyl, CD or through iTunes.
Question - does a remastered album sound any different through iTunes than the regular album? Doesn't the compression of digital music pretty much make remastering moot?
Third, there will be a 60-page book with all kinds of press kits, news articles, and rare photos included. But, no videos were mentioned. Springsteen has only released concert videos from the "Born to Run" and "River" tours. Man, if he had released something from pre-BTR, or maybe a collage of classic "Born in the USA" performances, I'd bite.
Didn't see a price for this but I can't see it being less than $100.
