Unsung: Wilson Pickett

I just finished watching this show. Wilson was a beast.

I never knew he was THAT good. Wow. Just another reason why I really appreciate shows like Unsung.

They really shine a light on certian artists.

Dang! Do they have the full episode streaming on their website? I don't get TVOne with my cable package anymore. confused

My dad was a Wilson Pickett fan. He used to have his 8 track Pickett tape in the car so I got an early education on Pickett. lol I believe the early incarnation of the Ohio Players used to back Pickett and his band the Falcons back in the late fifties. I love Wilson's gritty vocals.

Yeah dude was wild as hell. He liked to shoot at other artists and fight musicians
and then joke about. biggrin On the music front my dad used to have a couple of his albums too The Midnight Mover and In the Midnight Hour. Th Midnight Mover was a very underrated album.
