Legend? At what? Pop music is becoming the all purpose, non purpose music of the ages.

Well if your going to call Beyonce a legend then your minus well call Usher one.

I'm not quite sure why folks have this overwhelming need to label everything. Pop music is becoming the all purpose, non purpose music of the ages.

I really have tried to like his stuff over the years but they just leave me--meh... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I agree. Is just a label that people boast around to justify their favorite singers. To me it doesn't mean anything because when it is all said and done, the music and art will speak for itself. That is what makes you a legend. If you have to call someone a legend just to justify their music or talent than something is wrong. I actually liked a few of Usher's songs but like most singers from his generation, their music hasn't made a big enough impact to have lasting effects.

I've never bought any of his work, but compared to most artists in the past 20 years, I like him.

he puts out feel good r&b/dance music and it doesn't hurt that he's hot, it's hard for me to give labels to people close to my age that I could have gone to school with, I see them as kids who managed to acheive their dreams looking up to the same people musically.

Well it is impressive that he's lasted this long, that's for sure! Of course anything after Confessions will always be viewed as a disappointment but he's certainly no one album wonder. And who else is still going strong from the 90s? I think he's the only one alongside Eminem...

And beejay maybe britney [Edited 9/3/14 12:42pm]

Well Britney has a successful Vegas deal but her last album went unnoticed and I think it didn't even manage to outsell the infamous Bionic by Christina Aguilera.

I actually really like Confessions and all his music before it. He lost me when he started doing the Europop shit. I think he really hurt his core fanbase when he did that.

I forgot all about Britney Jean but I remember thinking it was one of her better albums in years. Some underrated stuff there though she's still a bad vocalist.

It was probably industry pressure, and his dance stuff had to really grow on me, wasn't feeling it either. Can't wait to hear him do r&b again. I think it will come back.

Ursher is an ICON but I'm biased cuz he's in my Top 20 Favorite Singers of all time. He's got so much more to do and he's still young...

Well...I've got five of his cd's so imma say I like him.

. I lost interest as of Here I Stand, but the new singles that have come out this year in anticipation of his new UR album have gotten me properly excited about his music for the first time in ten years. . Of course, I never really lost track of him; there's a reason I chose the username 'ginusher'... and Usher is half of that reason. . I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme

. Also, congrats Usher, on 20 years of making music! Here's to 20 more! . . I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme
