Oh please are you serious? Your opinion is just that--an OPINION, your subjective point of view which is hardly based on facts You've got it totally backwards here--Beyonce is not marketed ad nauseum because she "already is a legend." With that kind of logic then that must mean Kim Kardashian is a legend too (after all she's marketed ad nause. and just graced the cover of GQ magazine--she can make covers like Beyonce too!) [Edited 9/7/14 22:05pm] The thing s....it's ALL business and it's all driven on a lot of manufactured hype and branding. Michael Jackson did the same thing with the screaming and fainting psycho fans

This makes no sense at all. So Michael paid fans to scream and faint at him? This makes absolutely no sense and is completely different from what Beyonce does.

I never understood why for some reason when it comes to Beyonce people can never have an unpopular opinion about her, like she is so above criticism. Its okay to constructively criticize Michael. Its okay to trash Janet. Its okay to criticize Madonna. Its okay to criticize Prince and any other singer but its never okay to critcize. aBeyonce. I don't think stanoopposing posters harighttodicwhat others say on message boards. nce when do you have to be a fan to commentin.a singropiniontidifferent opin And from where I stand it seems like that lack of respect for the next person's opinions on her goes both ways. There's definitely something about this phenomenon we call Beyonce that solicits these string feelings from people whether it be pro or against. . Sadley it oftentimes seems that her biggest detractors are otjrr women who feel a certain pressure....imagined or real.....that they are unexpected to live up to some sorta image that she represents in society, and that immediately reverts them back to13yo girls with feelings of inadequacy . And there crimes that popular cheerleader bitch who everyone in the school adores to remind them

I acknowledge that, so what is the point of this post? If people can express why they like her, why can't people express the opposite? Is this not a music message board? This post comes across childish and judgemental. So women who don't like Beyonce have low self esteem? So women who don't like Beyonce are jealous of her? This post sounds like something a 13 year old girl would write. There are legtimate and rational reasons why some do not care for her and they should be able to freely express that without being called haters or names.

I agree so that's why I'm not gonna engage with them anymore. Not worth it. Willfully contradicted their own opinion and then tries to start beef with people who shared the same opinion that they initially said they had. Troll/stan for sure. I consider them to be permanently ignored at this point. Trolls be gone!

So is it ok to call Mary J Blidge a legend? Wasn't always. I remember that a lot of people including veteran artistdidn't agree at the time this was first introduced..... It wasn't until Elton John consigned that suddenly she's on Oprah and doing VH1 Divas

^^ Yes, to this! I think she's on her way to that title but not quite there just yet JMHO. Beyonce has an amazing voice and beautiful imagry. Personally,I don't think her music is really growing. At times I feel that it's stunted or worsening. Her debut was a solid album in every aspect (ie, lyrically, vocally, production-wise, imagry etc.) and this is coming from a non-DC fan to a 'I like this song' Beyonce music listener. I can listen to her debut from beginning to end without hitting the skip button. With her latest album, I feel like the quality of the songs, lyrically moreso than production-wise, is weak at best compared to her first disc. Her sophomore album had some great tunes but not as many as its predecessor. However, I will bow down to the fact that this woman is one hell of an entertainer. You can't help but watch what she's doing when she performs because she has an amazing stage presence. She's legend bound based on many of the same factors that all current legends are based on at some point. Music is an ever-changing entity. What's popular today won't always be so popular in 5 years so for her to have had a career that has spanned 2 decades deserves big kudos. I do agree with Motown that if she is in the hall of legends, she's very far from the top and that includes several artists who started out at the same time as her. Personally, I think P!nk and Christina Aguilera are just as amazing (sometimes better) vocally than Bey. She's a legend-in-training for sure though. Prince Rogers Nelson

I agree and also why is she just now being considered now that she's gone under the knife multiple times and has drastically whitened herself and now she's "gorgeous and flawless" to all these people who never felt that way before? I just don't get it. I need to leave this thread now. LOL. Adios! Trolls be gone!
