I have just gone through the bands discography. After only listening to Parklife & a little bit of the self titled. I ventured out and listened to The Great Escape, all of the self titled, Modern Life Is Rubbish, and 13.

WOW! what a fucking great discography. I also recently listened to Oasis discography (Yeah... ) just to for fun since the Oasis VS Blur thing goes on. Oasis first 2 albums are great, 3rd is good, rest is meh.

Blur had 3 or 4 great albums! and the rest were good (The debut is hit and miss though) They variety of the songwriting, the sounds, the instrumentals, the production. I'm amazed at how great of a band they were and they were so popular in the UK... Usually a band this big fades into shit after a few albums

I honestly can't believe the Oasis VS Blur debate now. Oasis did loud rock anthems or ballads. And they were usually songs about rock life, relationships, or excess. Nah pretty much rock anthems and balads. And they were good at it!

Blur had everything from making fun of glam music. To orchestral new wave, to brit pop excess, to great and poignant balads with great string sections. Songs about drugs, hating yourself, falling under the pressure of life, growing up, suicide, fidning out who you are late in life, trying to not become an asshole etc.

They were so varied in the material they put out. Oasis just doesn't compare at all.

to be honest I have always dis-liked Blur.

"Song 2" is a great song though, but I prefer Oasis when it comes to Britpop. (even the Oasis brothers are 100% nutheads).

And I will never forgive Blur:

You can't compare Blur to Oasis. Blur are so much more wide ranging and had better material.

LOL is this Blur's take on Oasis?

^a lot of blur videos and lyrics take a "you could read into this as a" slight. I like the clockwork orange motif on this one.
