So many amazing songs don't exist This is going to be hard to explain but its a thought that occured to me today and thought i should share it with the org - isn't it a weird thing when you think about it that so many great songs don't exist because a small event never occured and some great songs exist because a small event did occur eg. imagine if katherine jackon had 7 kids instead of 10? we would have never witnessed his music or if george michael was never hit on the head with a rock? we would of never of got fastlove or jesus to a child. It's weird to think if Joe Bloggs had that one extra kid with his wife in 1972 we would of potentially had a different biggest selling artist of all time. I'm feeling a bit fammy™

IUf John Lennon had remained single, there would be a lot fewer Beatle fans hating on Yoko Ono.

If George Harrison hadn't taken an interest in Indian culture, many Beatle songs starting with the Revolver album most likely wouldn't have happened because of Hindu/Krishna lyrics or they would have a different sound. This probably would have affected songs by other groups of the era, since they too started using sitars and other Indian instruments. The Beatle movies would have been different if Pete Best remained in the group instead of Ringo, because Pete had a different personality and Help! was pretty much made around Ringo. John wasn't exactly single though. He left his wife Cynthia and son Julian for Yoko. Yoko was also married (to her second husband) and had a daughter when she met John. If John remained with Cynthia, then Hey Jude wouldn't have existed since it was written to Julian by Paul about his parents breaking up. If performers had never drank booze or taken drugs, then a whole lot of songs (+ Cheech & Chong's career) wouldn't have existed. I thought you were speaking of something like what Stevie Wonder mentioned, which happens to a lot of writers/musicians, that of the "dream song." When you dream a song you KNOW in your REM state is a gift from God that no one else has, but by the time you wake up, IT'S GONE! Happened to me sooooo many times and makes me so !

If drugs, marijuana and such were completely forbidden in America, we would've missed many great masterpieces.

It's a great thing WHILE you're in the dream, but once you wake up and it's gone, it makes you mad.

Happens to me all the time! Lucky I keep my iPhone near me and use the Voice Memo. I start humming what I remember and later play it back to see if I can regain the same feeling. Most of the time I can and then I'll put it to music. It's strange how your mind can create an original melody while you're asleep.

^^Marlon had a twin (Brandon) who died. Elvis Presley also had a twin (Jesse) that died. If Paul McCartney hadn't (not) died in 1966, then there wouldn't not have not needed to have not been no Wings albums. And as for 'The Frog Chorus', well.... “I don't believe anything, but I have many suspicions.”
