Not very often I pop into this forum as I find the taste in music limited, Americacentric and uninspiring. This thread hasn't done a lot to change my thoughts on that. Lol smile A Winged Victory for the Sullen, The War on Drugs, Real Estate, Smoke Fairies, Rodrigo y Gabriel, Band of Skulls, Paul Johnson, Wolf Alice, Todd Terje, St Vincent, Letta Mbulu, Ibibio Sound Machine, Tune-Yards, Gary Clark Jr, ...the list goes on. Open your ears, open your mind. There is a wealth of music, more so than at any other time. There are too many albums released each week than I have time to listen to. By a long, long way. Just because you don't like something does not mean it lacks merit smile

Some would say you contradicted yourself in a supreme display of hypocrisy.

But I'll just say you taught YOURSELF a lesson.

Bravo.

I'm taking it that the OP at least means artists who came out 2000 and beyond.

Van Hunt
Bad Rabbits
Goepole
Ledisi(not sure if she was out before 2000)
Robert Randolph and the family band
Robert Glasper

You misunderstood me. I thought my final comment also suggests that it is also possible to dislike something because it lacks merit.

No, it was the first sentence that highlighted that point clearly.

So with that I'll ask you . . . you gave us some interesting new artists to pursue, but how many of the artists others listed have you actually heard?

If the answer is, "few or none," then I'd say you gave yourself another great tip:

"Open your ears, open your mind."
