I've been thinking about the covers of Motown songs made by British 60s groups and, inversely, the covers of British Invasion songs made by Motown artists. With respect to this last aspect, I can only think of Beatles songs being covered by several Motown artists. Do you know of some tune by, let's say, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who, Dave Clark Five..., that was covered by someone at Motown? I'm curious to know and, if they do exist, to listen.

So, silence maybe means I was right and no one at Motown covered other British Invasion acts than The Beatles? I find it strange, since everybody at Motown covered The Beatles. But hey, at the end of the day, The Beatles success can't compare to no one's...

I'm assuming there was, but I'm not for certain.

The Supremes recorded "Bits and Pieces" and "Because" by the Dave Clarke Five and "How Do You Do It?" by Gerry and the Pacemakers.
