The "Vibrator" album which no one has even urinated on in this thread, arguably has a lost gem of a ballad.... "Undeniably"....

Never heard the MJ story, but somehow seems plausible. I did hear about Prince telling TTD to get out of one of his studios around the time of the "celebrations", can anyone shed some light on this at the risk of blowing smoke?

Introducing The Hardline was more of a concept album, that was missing in contemporary R&B albums of the late 80's/early 90's... while it was very common in the 70's but that was soul music back then.

He's the architect of cont. R&B and nobody is giving him the right props after all these years.

One of the finest songs ever made. I loved that moody video too. Who could not have watched it back in early 1988 and thought "Is this guy cool or what?".

I just loved it then and love it now, one of the best parts of the mercurial artist. It must have scared the shit out of Prince when it came out. I still think "Holding on to you" and "Let her down easy" is better though. sorry!
