It's been established that essentially Michael pressured Sony to not promote TTD the way he should have been. It's also a fact that John Branca (Michael's attorney and now co-executor of the MJ Estate) took TTD on as a client, only to be forced by Michael to drop him.

I love Michael so much, he's my favorite artist of all time along with Prince, but one thing I will say is that Mike handled his damn business, and when he felt it was necessary, he was ruthless about it.

I am glad that Terence has found peace with it.

what a shame though and what a mean thing to do

I might get stick for this, but personally I felt like "introducing the headline..." was micromanaged and contrived.... but when they gave him control to do "neither fish nor flesh", I felt like I heard TTD in his organic glory, shame it bombed because they are some really awesome number there.

disbelief

The "Vibrator" album which no one has even urinated on in this thread, arguably has a lost gem of a ballad.... "Undeniably"....

nod

Never heard the MJ story, but somehow seems plausible. I did hear about Prince telling TTD to get out of one of his studios around the time of the "celebrations", can anyone shed some light on this at the risk of blowing smoke?

I prefer all his albums after "Introducing..." until "Wildcard" to "Introducing..." nod.

People called him 'delusional' all the time... You can tell he had so much potential but he ruined that after Symphony Or Damn... His genius is far more intresting and unique than Prince's, in my opinion, and he was a very good lyricist and producer.

Introducing The Hardline was more of a concept album, that was missing in contemporary R&B albums of the late 80's/early 90's... while it was very common in the 70's but that was soul music back then.

He's the architect of cont. R&B and nobody is giving him the right props after all these years.

agree with a lot of what you are saying

Adorecream

One of the finest songs ever made. I loved that moody video too. Who could not have watched it back in early 1988 and thought "Is this guy cool or what?".

.

I just loved it then and love it now, one of the best parts of the mercurial artist. It must have scared the shit out of Prince when it came out. I still think "Holding on to you" and "Let her down easy" is better though. sorry!

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
