You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

My mom had that B.B. album and she played it all the time. I think it was one of the 1st albums I knew (that wasn't a children's record), that and an album by blues singer Frankie Lee Sims that my grandfather had and a CL Franklin preaching record with 2 different sermons. I heard those sermons so much that I had them memorized. lol

It was such a great decade it;s hard to only do 10. So I'll try several favorites along with a few landmarks that are not among my favorites but likely deserve inclusion:

Marvin Gaye - What's Goin On

Stevie Wonder -- Talking Book

Miles Davis -- B---hes Brew

The Rolling Stones -- Exile On Main Street

Fleetwood Mac -- Rumours

Stevie Wonder -- Songs In The Key Of Life

Steely Dan -- Aja

Michael Jackson -- Off The Wall

Isaac Hayes -- Shaft

Gil Scott-Heron -- The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Props will be withheld until the showing and proving has commenced. -- Aaron McGruder

Some great albums already listed but I can't believe no-one's mentioned Something/Anything by Todd Rundgren.

Two albums from the 70's that I've passed on to my kids -

Touch - Touch

In The Land Of Grey And Pink - Caravan

Is there anybody else who has slightly mysterious bruises?

I can't think of any full length albums from the 70's, since I was a kid. However, "Bad Girls" by Donna Summer stands out. So many genres are evident on that double album. Can't believe, I have not seen that one listed yet:)
