New Barry Gibb Interview
In fact, while Mythology: The Tour Live, which kicks off May 15 in Boston, is billed as Gibb's solo trek, the surviving Bee Gee — also renowned for his work as a solo artist, and his collaborations with other stars as a writer, producer and performer — insists that he will carry those spirits with him, and pay homage to them.
The breadth of Gibb's work in the Bee Gees alone is documented on both 2010'sMythology, a compilation showcasing each Gibb brother's favorite tunes, and the new five-disc set Bee Gees: The Warner Bros. Years: 1987-1991. Released in April, the latter includes, in addition to three studio albums from that period, the first audio release of the full 1989 concert captured on video for 1991's One for All. That live recording features tunes tracing the group's evolution from a folk-pop outfit influenced by The Beatles, the Beach Boys and assorted Australian and American roots music to disco kings in the late '70s.

After all of these years, I'm just now watching and reading about him. I'm really excited and looking forward to seeing him next Saturday at the Concord show. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

The show was wonderful and great fun! Barry Gibb still has it for sure! He was touched by the fans response to him and cried a couple of times during the accolades and tributes to his brothers. I super fangirl'd with my friend when Grease was performed. That wasn't even part of my wish list setlist. Merchandise included cds, t-shirts, and a program that was $35. I didn't buy anything. His eldest son played guitar and sang lead on one song. The show included family slides and stories, and a gigantic disco ball. The music took me back to childhood. Only wish he had performed "Too Much Heaven." I copied the setlist from setlist.fm. Too tired to delete the ().

^^ Thanks for sharing. I had a feeling you'd come away from the gig smiling, I haven't read a bad review of Barry's recent shows. Hope it encourages him to take to the stage more often. Oddly, I've never known Too Much Heaven to have been performed in full. Even on the Spirits Having Flown tour of '79, when the song was new, it was abbreviated and included as part of a medley. The only other song from Spirits that they performed on that tour was Tragedy. In fact the title track from that album had never been performed live until this solo tour, maybe we'll get some surprises next time around too.

You're Welcome! I looked at other setlists on the tour, and he performed that song for the first couple of shows. I watched a youtube clip from the Boston show and you're right, he doesn't finish the song. In that case, I prefer the recorded version.
Yes, it was a great tracklist SoulAlive! "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Barry returned a favor to Bruce Springsteen and covered his song "I'm on Fire".

Oh no, I overlooked a previously posted video on my own thread. Woe is me, I'm wounded by shame.
