Have you ever hated a band... and at the same time loved one aspect of it. Maybe it was the guitar player? the drummer? the singer? etc.

A good first example is Wes Borland. Wes is the guitarist for Limp Bizkit and has some serious chops. He always had a unique look, sound, texture, and cool tone. Sadly it's all erased under Fred Durst and his middle rant whiny bullshit! hell, just take a look at this video. The song sounds really nice until you go and listen to the full track with Durst on it.



What are some other examples of this?

Borland does come off like an OK guy in interviews but still.... dude was in Limp Bizkit. It's hard to even reset my meter to zero knowing that about him.

Many people make the argument that Billy Corgan is/was The Smashing Pumpkins. Others say Both Jimmy And Billy were basically the band. whilist D'arcy and Iha were just the image of the band. I disagree, however, if you do some research you realized that Corgan for Gish and Siamese Dream recorded all of the Guitars And Bass parts. MY POINT! I have none. i guess people could say that The Smashing Pumpkins would be an relevant post to this thread? maybe?

WHAAAA Anthony is not a great singer this is true. But John is known for being an amazing and versatile guitar player And Chad is a very strong and tight drummer. Those 3 are incredibly talented! Anthony is.... well, Anthony.

Oh I can't say those guys don't have talent. I just don't want to listen to it. I don't really like Flea that much either to be honest. He showed up at an Ornette Coleman show at UCLA and the guy sitting next to me hollered "No! NOOOOOO!!!!" Which I thought was uncalled for. But then he started trying to play along with Ornette's band and pretty much stunk up the joint.

However I appreciate that he runs e music conservatory for children in Silver Lake and I have heard him play extremely well in more copacetic situations.
