We were in the 5th row on the left side of the stage. I did not take many pics because I have a crappy camera on my cell phone that didnt do my pictures justince nor fully capture the spectacular-ness of the show. These literally are the best looking pictures out the the bunch which is pretty sad

Hey Naughty Kitty! First, thanks for the wonderful concert review. What does your dad think of Bruno? I think the tourbook cover photo of him was awesome. One thing I love about him is that even though you can clearly see who his influences are, he still has his own sense of who he is as an artist. Unlike other so-called artists that try to pass off as legends. That was really cool that you got to meet someone in the band. No matter which singer it is, the band is almost always overlooked, so I'm sure he appreciated the fact that you were essentially a fan of his as well. You're welcome SeventeenDayze, thanks for reading it I think my dad likes him and appreciates his music, but I would not call him a fan. However during the encore he sure was acting like one lol. He was jumping up and down, screaming and cheering waving his arms during Locked OUt of Heaven and Gorilla, which that song really gets him hyped up I actually had to stop and look at my dad for a moment cuz he was full fanboy mode during those songs and it was quite a sight to see. He's 61 years old and I'm looking at him like when did you become this big Bruno Mars fan? He doesnt listen to his music but enjoys his concerts and will readily admit that Bruno and his band put on and EXCELLENT live show That's probably one of the big reasons why he has so many older people who are fans--ppl who grew up during the 50s-80s who have gone to several live concerts appreciate good shows and know what a great concert looks like (it aint lip syncing, a bunch of backup dancers & gimmicks and booty-popping/twerking) People have been saying that Bruno's concerts rank up there with Michael Jackson and the Jacksons, Prince, Elvis, James Brown, etc...that his live shows remind them of the great shows they've been to and that they are just as good as theirs back in the day.

Totally agree with you that Bruno has his own style and knows who he is as an artist even though its obvious who his influences are. The wonderful thing about Bruno is that he is still growing and developing as an artist, and I cant wait to see how he turns out when he's a fully developed and matured artist--I'm sure he will be amazing!

As for me posting the sexy vids of him singing Our First Time/Pony/Ignition...well you can never have too much of Bruno's grinding pelvic hip thrusts But its so interesting to see how he's changed the segment up a bit performing it over the past year. Enjoy!

The only complaint (and a very MINOR complaint) I have is that I wanted to see some costume changes. Mostly because I wanted to see his hair He took his hat off towards the end of my concert but still, I wish he wore an outfit like he wore at the Hollywood Bowl . In general though I have no complaints about him as a performer. I personally loved the tour book, I usually wouldn't buy a tourbook with just photos and no setlist or words, but I dig it.

Singer Mike Love of "The Beach Boys" said in an interview with Efethat the legendary Southern California rock group keeps up with the changing times and would love to work with a current phenomenon like Bruno Mars though they're triple his age.

Vocalist Love, the main support and only founding member permanently performing with the legendary band, spoke with Efe ahead of The Beach Boys' concert on Monday at the MadGarden Festival in Madrid and on Wednesday at the Starlite Festival in the southern Spanish resort city of Marbella, a place more akin to the beach environment that so inspired them.

"Mars is a great vocalist and dancer, he has those old-school influences that I think are so great," Love said, adding that he compares him to James Brown and that he was impressed by the Hawaiian's performance at the 2012 Grammy Awards where, on their 50th anniversary, The Beach Boys reappeared with their classical lineup.

They had wrapped up their European tour that began that year in the central Spanish city of Avila and brought together once more Love, his cousin and the group's lead composer Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston.

Love, who returns to Spain accompanied only by Johnston, said that between him and Brian Wilson, eldest of the Wilson brothers, "there are no problems."

"(Brian) and I are pretty much out of touch, but it's great when we see each other because we shared so many things, like co-creating such songs as 'Good Vibrations,' 'Help Me Rhonda,' 'I Get Around' and 'Surfin' USA,'" Love said, referring perhaps in a not very subtle way to the court ruling years ago that finally acknowledged him to be co-author of all those all-time hits.

The 28-year-old Hawaiian-born singer-songwriter has been onstage since he was a tyke, and it shows. He’s got charisma, musical talent, versatility and an unquenchable desire to please the crowd, and he used them all to wow the audience during his 95-minute concert, from the thumping opener, “Moonshine,” to the final, sexually charged encore of “Gorilla.” He’s a natural born entertainer.

Coming just a few days after Timberlake’s superb show, it’s hard not to compare Mars’ show with JT’s. And Mars was every bit his match. Both are excellent dancers with a commanding stage presence, and both owe a considerable debt to Michael Jackson. And while Timberlake showcased his instrumental skills on acoustic guitar and piano, Mars ripped up “Grenade” with a fiery electric guitar solo and kicked off his encores with an impressive drum solo. In the end, Mars proved to be a better singer, shifting gears easily from the disco burn of “Treasure” to the spotlight love ballad of “When I Was Your Man” to the rockin’, rollicking rave-up of “Runaway Baby.”

The main difference between the two, however, seemed to be that Timberlake has embraced contemporary hip-hop, while Mars looks more to the past for his musical inspiration. For example, his soul stroll “If I Knew” – a duet with vocalist and co-songwriter Philip Lawrence – was straight out of the Sam Cooke songbook, while “Locked Out of Heaven” was steeped in the sound of the Police.

But backed by a dynamic eight-piece band who melded with him onstage more like his streetcorner posse of pals rather than his employees, Mars was his own man, sometimes the tender, romantic crooner – the grinding “our First Time” and “Nothin’ On You” – and sometimes the steamy, sexual predator – “Gorilla.” Who says you can’t have it both ways?

Not only did opening act Aloe Blacc and his six-piece band warm up the crowd with his old-school soul, he had them positively over-heated with nuggets like “I Need a Dollar,” “The Man” and “Wake Me Up.” Expect to see him in the headlining slot real soon…

Thanks for posting this but I need to go on a mini rant here for a second Why the HELL did this guy compare Bruno to JT and say that Bruno is just as good a dancer as JT???? Excuse me???? You all KNOW how I feel about Timberlake but this writer is not doing any favors by damn-near promoting JT in an article that's supposed to be JUST about Bruno....okay rant over

That's funny what you wrote about your dad during the encorce. I wonder what made him feel so alive during Locked out of Heaven and Gorrilla? Do you think a lot of people from his generation were in the crowd when you went to that concert? I guess it's bizarre that Bruno doesn't just have a gaggle of tween-agers and teens there screaming the whole time.

I was happy to hear that he's got a display going at the Rock n Roll hall of fame. You should note that he was in a special section for amazing artists of today. "Weave-oncye" couldn't be bothered with being with Bruno, The Black Keys, etc. and demanded to have her lame exhibit next to MJ and David Bowie....what a phony this broad is! Bruno's people would probably never do that, especially when you are still 15 years away from having yourself actually inducted in the hall of fame!

Is/Has Bruno going to Minneapolis anytime soon? Maybe a surprise appearance by Prince would happen. But, that's a pipedream

I miss his hair--specifically his natural curly fro that he wore at the very start of tour last year. I know that he loves his hats and they are a part of his style, but it would be nice if every now and then he would ditch the hat and let his hair out. However I'm glad that he finally changed up his clothes at least a little bit for this current leg of the tour...he had been wearing the same getup for what seemed like forever...the same slacks, striped shirt, red vest and hat during half of the 1st leg and all throughout the 2nd & 3rd legs of the tour

I hear ya Seventeen! The writer said: Both are excellent dancers with a commanding stage presence...but what he really meant to say was this: BRUNO MARS is an excellent dancer with a commanding stage presence...I'm sure it was a typo Lol but I thought the same thing as you as I was reading it but at least he did say that Bruno is the better singer. Why pple think JT is such a great dancer.... I dont know why, he is so stiff! He can do some moves but he isnt fluid with his moves and there isnt any soul or passion behind his moves. Bruno is the complete opposite, not only does he have the moves, but he's got the soul, passion and overall SWAG that makes it look GOOD.

LOOH and Gorilla really get the party started especially when performed live. Those 2 songs sound great on the CD, but are even 10x better live. And Gorilla just has this incredible energy about it when performed live too, thats why I think my dad likes it so much. Plus he really likes the explosions that go off during Gorilla as well. Yeah there were several older people there at the concert---there was a mother next to us who looked to be about in her late 50s/early 60s. Her daughters brought her there as her Mother's Day gift and she was having a ball there as well. But it was a very good mix of ppl at the concert, kids as young as maybe 7 or 8 to senior citizens as well as a good mix of ethnicities and races. The only person I remember to reach an audience this wide and diverse is Michael Jackson

Its so cool that Bruno is getting his 2012 Grammy outfit exhibited in the R&R Hall of Fame with the other artists. As far as that pretentious peacock Beyond-overratedsay is concerned, whatever-Next! One can only hope that one day people will stop taking money from her and letting her buy her accolades and PR and that she'll take a break indefinitely. Bruno doesnt have to resort to those desperate tactics because he's the real deal and his talent speaks for itself.

I guess what irked me about the way the author wrote that is that sometimes mentioning another artist is a slick way of saying that Artist A is just as good as Artist B.....as if Artist B is the better between the two. I don't think they would said JT was as good as Bruno...maybe I'm wrong but I think that was a subtle way of making JT out to be better than what he is, but that's how his PR machine operates I guess. I remember someone on the Org posted a video of JT dancing to show how terrible he was and it was really bad but I guess in his head, he was better than anyone on the planet.

I wonder if other artists feel threatened by Bruno and will do anything they can to get the spotlight off him. I wouldn't be surprised at all, especially since he did that amazing performance at the SuperBowl. He showed them how it's done!

Yeah, its unfortunate I agree. I wouldnt be surprised if some are threatened by him because he's a force to be reckoned with! WOuldnt be surprised if Beyawnsay feels threatened since his SB show drew in more viewers than hers.

To me it seems like JT is way too much of a copycat. He doesn't really take risks. Bruno seems like he will get to his risk-taking phase sooner than later. It will be a good time for him and his fans. Maybe JT is more of a studio artist because he's got the bells and whistles behind him.

Yeah at first glance, the MJ thing confused me The SB show put him on another level big time and I think everyone else in the industry was probably like, "Uh oh, better toss that autotune album and start over lol"

I went to the show last Thursday (7/17) in Camden, NJ.

I'm not going to repeat everything that was said...

I went with my Mom, Sister, and friend Monique.
I had seen them last year, but it was their first time... They were blown away!

I wasn't too thrilled with the crowd down there; there were a lot of drunk 'cougars' who probably watched the Super Bowl. Some of them were pretty shameless.

Anyway: Bruno did his thing, as usual!

This is around the time he was just becoming famous back in early 2010. He really slayed it here and pretty sure did MJ proud

Thanks for the video, NK! I finally got around to watching his Ignition video and oh my! I remember an Orger saying that Bruno has the personality of a damp squid but I beg to differ! LOL! I think because his sexuality isn't so in your face, people might see him as not having personality but I think that's what I appreciate about him. He's very straight-forward and not a lot of bells and whistles.

I think Maxwell better watch out because Bruno is hot on his tracks When's Bruno going to release an R&B album?!?!?!?!

I read online last night, NK that Pharrell won't be doing the rest of the tour with Bruno. Do you know why? And thanks for those gifs Do you know if Bruno has ever worked with Maxwell before or if Maxwell has ever commented about Bruno?

My friends who saw him NYC last Monday and Tuesday had Pharell, but when I saw him on Thursday in NJ, we had Aloe Blacc. It could be scheduling or anything.

Cher started her tour with Pat Benatar, but by the time she got to us, we had Cyndi Lauper...
And when the second leg of the tour starts, it'll be Pat Benatar again.

What did your friends say about the MSG show? Oh, and I saw on Instagram last night that Bruno had a special guest at his Montreal show who was sitting up in the VIP section but didn't perform...Justin Timberlake I guess he's taking notes, "Swagga Jackin' Bruno Mars in 3 Easy Steps"
