Artists covering Prince Live (Thread) Since I thought that the mods would probably close this if I post it in The Prince forum (You know, videos are not allowed there...(?)), I decided to do it here... For all of y'all Prince diehard fans, this is a list of live performances by artists covering Prince material. (Official studio covers aren't the purpose of this)

I like her and Mitch Ryder's covers better than P's original. I like the somberness they convey. Some sembelence of maturity instead of all frantic and harried.

I notice that when people cover Prince, they often seem to choose the most obvious songs (Purple Rain, Let's Go Crazy, etc), which is odd, as you'd think those were the most iconic and hardest to put your own stamp on. Nice when someone digs deeper into the back catalogue. Questlove and D'Angelo's live version of My Summertime Thang with Eric Leeds was good on that score, particularly as we never get to hear that one live, but it's a great live track - and all the better for being liberated from its chunky early-90s production. The group known as "!!!" has been doing Extra Lovable live for years. It's difficult to search for them online though. [Edited 6/13/14 7:52am] Keep your headphones on.
