I love Janelle and I love Bowie, but when I first heard this cover I didn't like it very much, and hearing it live now I dislike it even more. I prefer when someone does a cover for them to make it their own, and she didn't do that with this, so it sounds a bit forced and cheesy IMO. I want to like it but everything about this performance makes me hate it, its more like she's acting/performing than actually being into and owning/living the music. Change it one more time.. | |

I really liked it. I think it's tough to cover a legend like Bowie and not piss people off, though. Here's Janelle doing one of her own songs on Letterman last year:
