So is Van doing back up now? Not knocking his hustle just wanting to know.

Van Hunt is the only songwriter in R&B who matters today.

Identity

If Van Hunt isn't the most galvanizing funk/rock artist to explode on the scene in ages, I don't know who is.

Like that time Prince was doing backup Ani DeFranco? Janelle Monae? Could it be that Van Hunt is a fan of the Afghan Whigs and they of him? Perhaps they're friends. Perhaps he plays on the record.

Lack of differentiation between 'art' and 'hustle' is a big problem.

Terms like 'hustle' and 'game' need to be retired. They suggest money is the only motivation for making music, (which seems to actually be the case in mainstream rap and R&B) but I doubt it is Van Hunt's primary motivation.

yeah, I was distracted at first by Van Hunt and then I watched it a few times and it seems like I might have to pick up their new cd - they are one band I have to see in concert

Really loving this song. Van Hunt was a supporting act during the Whigs' reunion tour and makes an appearance on the new album.

I actually dig that performance, and it says just as much about the AWs' respect for him as vice versa.
