Tina Turner's "One of the Living"

While I'm looking forward to a new 'Mad Max' movie starring Tom Hardy, I cannot help but miss the 1985 hit "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" - largely because of Tina Turner. I'm especially fond of the song, 'One of the Living.' The video... with the longer introduction than what was included on the album.. is superb, and I remember buying the 12" and playing it to death. Now, I am wondering if the video is included in any of the movie DVD releases. If I remember right, the song only plays during the credits of the movie (and not the video that MTV played). Does anyone know - or where I might find the video... with the long intro, Tina playing the red guitar, and the sax guy? The quality of the version on youtube is pretty poor.

When you say "album", are you talking about a Tina Turner album that contained this song or the movie soundtrack album?

I liked this movie and the soundtrack back then but I was very young. In hindsight, that movie could have been so much better if they had kept Brian May as the soundtrack composer (not to be confused with Brian May from the band Queen) and if the movie had been a bit more like part II.

The new one looks promising but some things about it rub me the wrong way. But I´ll definitely watch it since I´m a big fan of the Mad Max franchise.

Still don´t know whether it´s a reboot , a prequel to part II, or whatever. The car gets destroyed in the new trailer so chronologically, it can´t really be a prequel to part II but that´s what they say.

Tina was great in that movie. Didn´t really like the movie, but Tina did a great job.

I bought the soundtrack back in the day it was released - it is a gatefold album. I also bought the 12" of the version of "One of the Living" so I could get that longer version. Now, I just want to find a quality copy of the video (of the song). I was hoping it was included in the DVD release(s) of the movie -- and that's why I posted. Does anyone have the DVD's of "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" that can confirm if the music videos are any part of the bonus extras? THANKS! smile

Not sure if the video will be included, but I seem to remember the "movie version" does sound a little different to the OST/single version.

Anyway, yeah, the 12 inch is fun and it's a great powerful AOR song. I also dig how the verses are both sung differently (until the bridge). It's a nice touch.

I have the soundtrack album and the 12", and I know where I can get the 45. I just want the video version! Someone knows the difference between all of these?
