Michael Jackson "Jokes on Prince"

Mike's Bodyguards in a new book tell stories, including one about Prince.

Jackson loved to walk around in public, and would often go shopping in creative disguises, dressing like anything from a biker to a mummy. In the summer of 2007, Jackson vacationed in secret at a mansion 10 minutes outside of Middleburg, Va. When he wanted to shop at the local Walmart, he donned a veil, with Whitfield trailing 5 feet behind.

But rather than deflecting attention, the veil made the store’s security guard suspicious that he was going to rob the place. Police were called, and Whitfield needed to defuse the situation, but didn’t want to reveal that it was Jackson, because a mob always managed to form when that happened. So he convinced the police officer that the man under the veil was Prince. The police backed off, and crowds that had started to form began to disperse.

As it happened, Jackson considered Prince a fierce rival. When he was later told that he had been represented as Prince, he laughed and replied, “No wonder they left us alone.”

In reading excepts from the book, it's hard to believe that before 2007 Michael never saw homeless people in LA, seriously, he wasn't that sheltered! It's also had to believe that anyone would have thought he was Prince, security or fans...

Good luck selling the book guys.

The biggest joke was having Bubbles wear the Purple Rain t-shirt in the MJ movie.

Normally,I wouldn't be interested in a "tell-all" book about a celebrity, but this book seems like there are some interesting tales in it lol might have to pick it up

MJ is dead, I still can't see why people still have to claim things about MJ wether it was him sexually abusing kids or joking about Prince. Let the man rest in peace.

The reason he used Van Halen on Beat It was because of Prince. Michael hated P, which makes me wonder about fans here.

Michael DID NOT hate Prince. In fact,he was a huge fan of Prince. He has seen several Prince concerts and even invited him to sing on his "Bad" single.Unfortunately, the media and fans of both artists like to create some kind of rivalry that didn't even exist.

He could've hated him & admired him at the same time. It was good for everyone, if Prince wasn't around in 1985 MJ probably wouldve never thought that he has to follow Thriller with something even bigger.

Indeed. It's unlikely that Prince will have #1 albums once he's in the ground. smile

Not true dude. Not Michael that made that call though, it was Q that called Van Halen. MJ didn't hate Prince but they weren't best of friends either. Fans need to let go of the this old rivarly....
