As of right now, they are the best house band on any night time talk show. Even Fallon's guests give The Roots their props when they appear on the show.

Yup, paycheck. Being a musician is so inconsistent in terms of income. I bet it's really nice for them to know they're getting the same wages every week for however long they choose to be on the show. And it'll be good pay too. . They could do this and just write/release albums instead of touring. Some musos get sick of the touring life and being away from their family/friends. I believe Adam Levine and Usher have a tv show they are on. They do it for the exposure. The roots have never gone full on mainstream, thus, they couldn't be the next Cold Play or whatever. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment |
