Tears for Fears Epiphany

Okay, I feel like an absolute idiot and please feel free to agree. I was a big TFF fan back in the 80s but for whatever reason I completely blocked out the fact that Curt and not Roland sang lead on "Everybody Wants to Rule the World". I mean, I know Curt was not Andrew Ridgeley but I just think it is weird for some reason, maybe it's because Curt sounds so much like Roland. They were like vocal twins or something. I realize this thread has nowhere to go but I couldn't believe that I either didn't know that or couldn't remember that.

Curt's voice is not bad but Roland's is amazing, in my opinion. Roland also wrote 99.9% of their songs.

wave Big TFF fan here! biggrin

I prefer Roland over Curt- even on their solo projects.

Your lies, they cut me.

Well don't I feel silly...I never knew that was Curt singing lead on "Everybody Rules The World" either. That's my #1 favorite song of theirs, however, I have to agree with the others on here....Curt's voice is pretty good but Roland's voice is hypnotizing and it has more range. nod

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yall must never seen the music video. razz I don't think Curt & Roland sound alike though.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Well that's the thing. I saw the video hundreds of time when I was 13 and then, over the last 10 years, not a whole lot. In my mind, I did not remember back to the video which was basically the Curt show, with Roland chiming in here or there every once in a while. So when I YouTubed it I was shocked.

I am not a TFF junkie or anything; big fan of "Songs from the Big Chair", loved "Sowing the Seed of Love" but would classify myself as a casual fan. So I just remembered them being like every other 2 main guys in the group, like Wham and Pet Shop Boys. One guy sings and one guy is completely mute. Now I have to go back and watch all of my favorite 80s videos to see if there are any other surprises.

All good things they say never last...

Really?

Curt = EBWTRTW, Mad World, Pale Shelter, Change

Roland = Shout, Mothers Talk, Head Over Heels,

Both Sowing The Seed of Love.

Curt is a mean base player too.
