- I wonder if she's getting the first single from Jimmy & Terry's album? Either way, I'm happy

Im keeping my fingers crossed that its the long awaited Jam & Lewis music. Theres enough Janet Jackson cds already. Its not like she is going to take some enormous musical leap and produce some astonishing new music.

Maybe she was finally given ownership of her master recordings and with A&M Records will be releasing a 30th anniversary remastered deluxe edition of her Dream Street album.

Has she released deluxe versions of any of her cds?

Nope.
Well, she's released a remix disc with her janet and Velvet Rope albums, but they've been withing two years of the album's original release. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Probably a one-off single, not sure she could still release a proper studio album...

She did remix albums for Control and janet. "Get up off that grey line"

With so many people, celebs and fans alike, awaiting new music from her, I beg to differ. "Get up off that grey line"

I really don't think anybody cares about new music from Janet anymore, and I say that as someone who owns (and likes) every single JJ album.
For some strange reason, the public don't hold her or her past work with the same esteem as they do with Madonna, MJ, Prince etc. In some ways, Janet's post-Nipplegate career has been blighted with the same problems Mariah Carey has been struggling with the last decade. The public just don't have a great deal of affection for either of them, they would both struggle to sell out arena-size venues that they could've easily packed out back in the 90s and neither of them seem to be capable of achieving any sort of popularity or relevance with their newer work. The industry just doesn't care about them anymore, and the public have followed suit.
Difference with Prince or MJ is, even though neither of these artists have had a legitimate hit since the mid-90s, they're back catalogues are so ingrained into the public consciousness, it doesn't really matter if they never have another chart hit again. Casual music fans will always buy their Greatest Hits albums and flock to see their concerts. Same with Madonna. Janets last Greatest Hits (wasn't it called Number Ones?) didn't sell jack shit, yet MJ's back catalogue is whored year in, year out and the public lap it up. Janet is reduced to playing in oversized theatres and yet Madonna and Prince can sell out massive arenas with great ease.
I don't get a kick out of pointing any of this out, as I have a big soft spot for Janet, and would love to see her back on top again, but I don't see it happening in a month of Sundays.

A month of Sundays... Is that like 8-10 years? Anyways...why I'm posting. I don't see it as some strange reason. A lack of talent and age. It seems pretty obvious IMO. Miss Jackson often(no, not always) relied on physical appearance and seduality. Most of the talent is Miss Jackson's brand resided in the hands of J & T. No, I'm not talking Justin Timberlake[get it...haha...hands of JT..but not JT. Jimmy and terry...gawd I crack me up...]. Jimmy and Terry captioned her ship. When they stopped partnering, her sales dropped like an anchored body in the East River. It wasntnjist the sales that sunk either. Her body of work started to look like one of those bodies at the bottom of the east. JD...not JT was her careers worst enemy. I'm not sure why the breakupnof Jam Lewis and Jackson happened, but it was more than fruitful while it lasted. She's getting up there in age as well and probably doesn't desire to live with the stressors, spotlight, and scrutiny at her she after a lifetime of fishbowl living. Body scrutiny, training, rehearsals....that shit is HARD and fans sometimes gloss hat over and get the notion that all of that should just happen, the entertainer enduring it...just cuzbtheynwsnt another record... regardless of what it takes to make it and the probable quality of the record being sub par. The woman's brother just ride not a crazy long amount of time ago. The family is going through MUCHO MAS drama..public and private...Conrad, AEG... The kids...mama Jackson being a mom again...joe acting a fool. I'm glad Miss Jackson is laying back for a bit. It will serve her psyche and her family will in due time.

- Thanks again for the update. I forgot to mention this in my first response, but why even bring up another artist when you're promoting someone else? That buzzfeed link was nostalgic, truthful, but unnecessary (to me). Maybe Jimmy felt the comparison/reminder was needed to be made. I hope Janet doesn't feel the need to "compete" for something she's already accomplished decades ago. - Now bring on the Funk!

buzzfeed quizzes/write ups is a 2014 emerging digital trend and promotional tool, you'll see alot more artists conversations surfacing, this is definitely their break out year, good to see Jimmy is on trend and in the know, if you make it on buzzfeed you're seen as "relevant" to those invested in Pop culture
